 Christian is a multi-millionaire heir who seems like the perfect catch: handsome, kind, and incredibly wealthy. When he meets Sigrid on a dating app, sparks fly instantly. Christian lives with his dog, Frank. There’s just one small, furry caveat. Frank is a man, a person, a human,  who dresses up and lives 24/7 as a dog.

And no, it’s not a kinky thing. Christian insists Frank simply is a dog.

 On the surface, Good Boy sounds like a wacky comedy or a low-budget shocker. It is neither. This Norwegian psychological thriller is a masterclass in tone. It treats its bizarre premise with a deadly, quiet seriousness that makes the tension almost unbearable.

Here’s why it’s worth your time:

The Power Dynamics: The film explores the “golden cage.” When someone offers you a life of ultimate luxury, what are you willing to overlook? Sigrid’s internal conflict (balancing her discomfort with the allure of Christian’s lifestyle) is something we can all (uncomfortably) relate to.

The Uncanny Valley: Frank (the “dog”) doesn’t speak. He wears a fursuit and behaves exactly like a dog. The way the camera lingers on him in the corner of a room creates a sense of dread that no jump-scare could ever achieve.
